Dhamma Classes for Children

Program for 2023

The Buddhist Discussion Centre Australia conducts introductory classes in Buddhism for children which are offered in association with the World Fellowship of Buddhists Standing Committee on Women.

The purpose of our classes is to offer children an introduction to attitudes and behaviours recommended in Buddhist Teachings to help them live a happy life.

In 2023, the Centre will conduct classes for children accompanied by at least one of their parents.

Children and their families will have the opportunity to learn about the story of the Buddha, be introduced to Buddhist Teachings such as mindfulness and generosity, participate in guided meditations, learn Buddhist songs and do activities such as colouring in and crafts.

The inclusion of an accompanying parent with each child is to support the learning of the children beyond the classroom environment. The classes will be led by Members of our Centre who are school teachers and hold a current Working with Children Check.

Classes will be held on Sundays from 1:30pm to 2:30pm on the following dates:

Term 1: 5th March, 12th March, 19th March 2023

Term 2: 11th June, 18th June, 25th June 2023

Term 3: 20th August, 27th August, 3rd September 2023

Classes are offered free of charge. Children can join in any time, it is not necessary to attend every class to benefit.
