1000 Buddhas Offering
We invite you to become a Founding Benefactor of the new John D. Hughes Dhamma Cetiya Meditation Hall and Library, being built at 33 Brooking Street, Upwey, Victoria 3158, Australia, by sponsoring the installation of 1000 Buddha images within the new Hall.
By sponsoring the 1000 Buddha images offering you will be a Founding Benefactor of the John D. Hughes Dhamma Cetiya and your name will appear on our Founding Benefactors register to be on permanent display in the new Hall.
Construction of the Hall has already commenced with completion planned for the end of 2006. The total cost is estimated to be $32.000 including furnishings.
The building is 11 metres by 7 metres and includes an entrance foyer, the main altar, our life size Padmasambhava image, a meditation area, the John D. Hughes Collection Library, study and a work area.
Your kind contribution to the 1000 Buddhas offering is much needed to help us complete the new building and to help us run our Centre and our projects. The entire Hall will be encircled inside by the 1000 Buddha images.
When offering a Buddha image we are reminded of the qualities of perfect wisdom and perfect compassion of the Buddha inspiring us to develop these qualities in ourselves.
It is said that the virtues done with Bodhicitta never gets lost and increase all the time, so similarly the merit from building a temple where the Guru, Buddha, Dharma and Sangha the holy objects abide, your merit will continuously increase from life to life while you are working, eating, sleeping, or whatever you are doing.
