On November 24, 2001, B.D.C.(U)Ltd. Director Evelin Halls and Member Leanne Eames attended the opening of ancient Chinese embroidery at the Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery in Melbourne, Australia. The exhibition was organised by B.L.I.A. All works were on loan from Mr Zen Zhong Wang of Taiwan.

Mr Meng Yeow Leong, and Mr and Mrs Wang, who kindly loaned the many works on display from their private collection.

Mr Meng Yeow Leong welcomed the many guests to the exhibition at the Fo Guang Yuan Gallery, which is housed in an historical Melbourne building. The Gallery had recently acquired and renovated the building to create a beautiful gallery for displaying many works of art, at the same time retaining many of the architectural features of this Melbourne landmark.

Venerable Man Chien, Abbotess of Nan Tien Temple, welcomed all visitors to the opening, and thanked all of the people involved. She stated that the purpose of the Gallery is to promote the spread of Buddhist Teachings through Chinese art and culture.

Venerable Man Chien offered gifts to Mr Wang in appreciation of his great generosity.

Venerable Man Chien and Mr Zen Zhong Wang stand in front of an embroidered kasaya (robe) in purple gold. The kasaya is a robe worn by monastic monks and nuns. This robe has round golden longevity characters surrounded by golden dragons. It is probably a royal gift by an Emperor to a highly respected Monk.

Venerable Man Chien stands with Evelin Halls and Leanne Eames at before an installation in the foyer of the Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery. Entitled 'Embrace of Heaven and Earth', and created by Padma and Ashika, the installation was created for reflecting upon the union of heaven and earth.
